According to Dehradun SSP Pramendra Dobal, the incident occurred on Sunday night. The accused, identified as Ikram Latif (36), Vishal Goyal (32), Shahrukh (26), and Arshad (26), all residents of Sahaspur, allegedly stopped fellow resident Ravindra Singh on the road and began assaulting him. The confrontation escalated when one of the accused reportedly drove recklessly in an attempt to mow down Singh, as seen in the viral video.

Police acted swiftly based on an eyewitness account, arriving at the scene to arrest the four individuals. The injured man, Ravindra Singh, was promptly taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Singh later filed a formal complaint, accusing the men of assault, damaging his vehicle, and attempting to kill him.

Legal Charges and Court Proceedings

A case has been registered against the accused under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The charges include:

  • Section 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt
  • Section 281 for negligent driving endangering human life on a public road
  • Section 324(4) for mischief
  • Section 352 for intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace
  • Section 351(2) for criminal intimidation

The accused were produced before a local court on Monday and subsequently sent to jail, pending further legal proceedings. This case highlights the severity of road rage and violent behavior in public spaces, with authorities taking strict action to ensure justice.
