Major Alcohol Seizure in Dahod: Police Intercept Truck Carrying Beer Worth Rs 80 Lakh
In a significant enforcement action, the Dahod police on Sunday conducted a major seizure of illegal alcohol near the Khangela check-post area. The operation resulted in the confiscation of a substantial stock of beer and the arrest of one individual involved in the transportation of the contraband.
Routine Check Uncovers Hidden Contraband
The police were engaged in routine vehicle inspections in Dahod when they intercepted a truck for examination. The vehicle was being driven by Goparam Chaudhary, a resident of Rajasthan, who became the focus of the police inquiry.
Upon questioning, Chaudhary informed the officers that he was transporting food items in his truck. However, the police decided to conduct a thorough search of the vehicle, leading to a surprising discovery.
Discovery of Hidden Beer Stock
During the search, authorities found 9,480 beer cans concealed behind the legitimate food items in the truck. The alcohol was packed in 525 boxes and had an estimated market value of around Rs 80 lakh.
This hidden cache of beer represented a significant quantity of illegal alcohol being transported through the region. The police immediately took Chaudhary into custody following the discovery.

During interrogation, Chaudhary revealed to the police that he was supposed to deliver the alcohol stock to an individual near Golden Chowkdi on National Highway 48. This information provided crucial insights into the distribution network involved in the illegal alcohol trade.
