Former DGP Sreelekha Accuses Shine Nigam Film 'Dridam' of Plagiarism
Sreelekha Alleges 'Dridam' Plagiarized Her Short Story

Thiruvananthapuram: Former Director General of Police (DGP) and BJP state vice-president R Sreelekha has leveled plagiarism allegations against the Shine Nigam-starrer film 'Dridam'. In a social media post, Sreelekha claimed that the core idea of the film's story bears striking similarities to a short story she had written.

"There is nothing wrong in saying that the core idea of the film is a copy of my short story — 'Karinkudy police station'," Sreelekha alleged. She also made similar accusations against another film by Nigam — 'Bhoothakalam'. She stated that this film was a copy of an experience she had shared on her YouTube channel five years ago.

Sreelekha mentioned that she liked actor Nigam after watching his film 'Parava'. She appreciated the actor for his resemblance to a police officer whom she regarded as her younger brother. She revealed that she watched 'Dridam' by chance. However, the former cop, who currently represents the Sasthamangalam ward in the Thiruvananthapuram corporation, did not specify whether she plans to file a formal complaint.
