Arti Pandey, a resident of Barkagaon, was married to Shahdanand Tiwari, a resident of Pauta village in Sadar block, on May 1. The reception was organized two days later, on May 3. During the event, the bride’s family alleged that the groom’s family had taken away her jewellery and mobile phone after the wedding ceremony.

The dispute quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, leaving six individuals injured. All the injured were promptly admitted to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital for medical treatment. Police personnel arrived at the scene, intervened to de-escalate the situation, and successfully rescued the bride. Two individuals were detained in connection with the incident.
