CJI Suryakant Heads Major Judicial Visit to Varanasi

Foundation Stone Ceremony for Chandauli District Court

On January 17, Chief Justice Suryakant will perform a key duty. He will lay the foundation stone for the proposed district court campus. This new facility is located in Chandauli district. The ceremony marks a crucial step in enhancing judicial infrastructure in the region.

Divisional Commissioner S Rajalingam inspected the proposed site recently. He reviewed all preparations for the CJI's visit on Wednesday. Rajalingam confirmed that arrangements are now finalised. These include stay and movement logistics for the judges in both Varanasi and Chandauli.

High Alert for Security and Arrangements

The delegation is notably large. Five Supreme Court judges are likely to join the visit. Eighteen additional judges from the Allahabad High Court will also participate. This scale has prompted officials to implement extra alert measures. Security and protocol teams are working diligently to ensure a smooth visit.

The judges will arrive in Varanasi on January 16. Their itinerary includes a visit to the revered Kashi Vishwanath temple. Following this spiritual stop, the delegation will stay overnight in Kashi. The next day, they will proceed to Chandauli district for the foundation stone-laying ceremony.

This visit underscores the judiciary's focus on expanding court facilities. It also highlights Varanasi's importance as a cultural and administrative hub. Local authorities have coordinated extensively to host the esteemed guests.
