Chandigarh Police have claimed to solve the murder case of a security guard in Manimajra with the arrest of three individuals. The accused, identified as Munna Rajak (47), Shani Dev Kumar (27), and Dhanik Kumar Sah (24), all residents of Bihar, were produced before a court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.

Investigation Details

Police scrutinized CCTV camera footage from nearby locations and the surrounding jungle area. They also questioned residents of adjacent slums to gather leads. During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused suspected the victim of stealing their mobile phone a few days prior to the incident.

Sequence of Events

On the night of May 2, the accused consumed alcohol and confronted the security guard, leading to a heated argument. As tensions escalated, they attacked the victim using a wooden stick and then strangled him with his own belt. Subsequently, they dragged the body through a nearby jungle area to dispose of it.

Seized Evidence

Police recovered the deceased's mobile phone, the wooden stick used in the crime, and blood-stained clothes from the accused. The case was registered on May 2 after authorities received information about a body found near the Kalagram light point close to a petrol pump in Manimajra.
