Buxar: In a significant breakthrough, police have arrested all five named accused involved in the alleged gang rape of a dancer in Buxar district. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gaurav Pandey confirmed that the arrests were made based on intelligence inputs and technical investigation.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on May 1 when the victim had come to perform at a wedding. According to police, the five accused—identified as Bunty Rajbhar, Salman Khan, Rampratap Rajbhar alias Prem Kumar, and two others—allegedly committed the crime. After the assault, the accused reportedly left the victim unconscious near the Karmanasa river and fled the scene.
Confession and Legal Action
Police stated that the accused have confessed to committing the crime. Based on the victim’s statement, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. SDPO Gaurav Pandey added that all five accused are being sent to judicial custody.
