Jind Sessions Court Targeted by Bomb Threat Email, Police Launch Intensive Search Operation

The sessions court in Jind, Haryana, was thrown into a state of high alert on Thursday morning after receiving a chilling bomb threat via email. The threatening message, which landed in the official email inbox of the sessions judge, explicitly warned that the court premises would be blown up, claiming that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) had been planted on the property.

Immediate Police Response and Security Measures

As soon as the information was received, the police administration swung into action, launching an intensive search operation across the entire court complex. According to Jind Bar Association president Vikas Lohan, the threatening message was received in the morning on the official email ID of the Jind sessions judge. Immediately after receiving the email, the matter was reported to the police administration, triggering a swift security response.

Police teams, accompanied by a specialized dog squad, promptly reached the spot to conduct a thorough sweep of the premises. The search operation was comprehensive, covering all areas of the court complex to locate any potential explosive devices or suspicious materials. Despite hours of meticulous checking, no suspicious objects or explosive materials were found, providing some relief to court officials and security personnel.

Details of the Threatening Email and Investigation

Jind Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh provided crucial details about the threatening communication. The sessions judge received an email from a Hotmail account in the morning, containing specific threats about an IED being concealed within the court premises. The email went further to add that if the explosive device failed to hit its target, fidayeen attackers would be dispatched to carry out the attack.

"A police team was deployed at the spot and the entire area was sanitized," stated SP Kuldeep Singh. "The links of the email may be connected to Tamil Nadu, though the matter is still under investigation. At present, no suspicious activity was found." This revelation about potential connections to Tamil Nadu adds a new dimension to the investigation, though authorities emphasize that the probe is ongoing and no definitive conclusions have been reached.

Pattern of Similar Threats in Haryana Courts

This incident is not isolated in the region. Earlier, Bhiwani and Fatehabad courts had also received similar bomb threats, indicating a concerning pattern of targeting judicial infrastructure in Haryana. These repeated threats have raised serious questions about court security protocols and the need for enhanced protective measures across judicial establishments in the state.

The Jind bomb threat episode highlights the growing challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in dealing with digital threats against critical infrastructure. While the immediate danger appears to have been averted through prompt police action, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities that exist even in secured government facilities.
