A sudden explosion rocked a long-established gun shop on the busy Gurgaon–Alwar National Highway (NH-248A) on Monday, spreading panic through the Nuh district market area and causing significant material damage.
Blast Details and Immediate Impact
The blast originated inside the Satyam Gun House, a shop that has been operating at the location for over a decade. The force of the explosion was substantial, damaging a portion of the shop's wall and shattering the glass panes of its gate, which were blown onto the street. Several vehicles parked outside the shop in the bustling market area were also damaged by the impact and flying debris.
Injury and Emergency Response
At the time of the incident, three workers were inside the premises. One of them sustained minor injuries and was promptly taken to CHC Nuh for medical treatment. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported. Upon receiving information about the blast, police and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot. Firefighters acted swiftly to bring the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to adjoining shops in the market complex.
Ongoing Investigation and Precautions
Officials reached the site to review the situation. Preliminary information suggests the explosion occurred after cartridges and weapons stored inside the shop caught fire. However, the exact cause is yet to be definitively established. "All aspects related to storage and handling of gun-related material are being examined," a police officer stated. Teams remain stationed in the area as a precautionary measure while the extent of damage to the shop and nearby properties is assessed. Police are also recording statements from those present during the incident. No First Information Report (FIR) has been registered so far, with further action awaiting the completion of the preliminary inquiry.
