BJP Councillor's Wife Brutally Murdered in Mandsaur; Stepson Among Arrests
In a shocking incident that has rattled the community, Rubina, the wife of a BJP councillor, was stabbed to death in Mandsaur on Thursday evening. The brazen attack occurred as she was entering an auto-rickshaw, sending shockwaves through the area and prompting a swift police investigation.
Details of the Fatal Attack
The victim, Rubina, was the third wife of BJP councillor Shahid Mev, who represents ward 15 in Mandsaur. According to authorities, she was attacked by two assailants while getting into an auto-rickshaw. The attackers arrived on a motorcycle, and one of them repeatedly stabbed her in the abdomen, chest, and head before fleeing the scene. Rubina was rushed to the district hospital by her husband, Shahid, in a severely injured condition, but doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Arrests and Motive Revealed
A day after the murder, police arrested her stepson, Sahil, who is the councillor's son, and his accomplice in connection with the case. Mandsaur ASP Ter Singh Baghel stated that Shahid had married Rubina approximately seven months ago. Investigators believe that Sahil was upset over his father's third marriage, and simmering family tensions allegedly led him to plot the killing. At the time of the attack, Rubina was returning to her rented home from her maternal house in Madarpura.
Investigation Challenges and Evidence
Investigators faced a hurdle as a power outage at the time of the incident prevented nearby CCTV cameras from recording the attack. However, police examined footage from surrounding areas and claimed that the evidence pointed towards the involvement of the councillor's son. ASP Baghel confirmed, "Both Sahil and his neighbour were arrested in the murder case." The case highlights the tragic consequences of domestic disputes and has drawn significant attention in Mandsaur.
