According to the complaint filed by her mother, Latha Mageshwari, 49, Meganashree sent a message to her brother on Friday, stating that her husband was torturing her and that she had decided to end her life. This message came after Meganashree had frequently complained about marital discord since her marriage to Gunasekaran, 35, in 2021. The couple had been living in Bengaluru, with Meganashree originally hailing from Thirunatharajapuram in Thiruvallur.

The Ramakrishna Raju Pet police acted swiftly upon receiving the complaint from Meganashree's mother. They registered a case based on the allegations of harassment, which led to the tragic suicide. Meganashree was found hanging at her home, and her body was subsequently taken to Thiruttani Government Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
