Bengaluru Police Swiftly Rescue Two Missing Children in Separate Incidents
In a demonstration of community policing and rapid response, personnel from Bengaluru's Hoysala patrol vehicles successfully rescued two missing children—including a specially abled boy—and safely reunited them with their families in separate incidents reported under the KR Pura and Ramamurthynagar police jurisdictions.
First Rescue: Specially Abled Boy Found Near Annamma Temple
The first incident unfolded at 10:40 PM on April 6 when concerned residents of Dodda Banasawadi alerted the police control room after noticing a young boy wandering alone near Annamma Temple. Assistant Sub-Inspector Manjunath and Head Constable Niranjan from Hoysala-54 promptly reached the location and attempted to communicate with the child.
The boy, believed to be over 10 years old, was unable to speak, presenting immediate challenges for identification. Suspecting he might have wandered away from home unnoticed, the officers immediately requested assistance from another patrol unit, Hoysala-53. The combined teams spread out across the area, systematically making inquiries with local residents.
After approximately 30 minutes of diligent questioning, some residents recognized the child and contacted his parents. Meanwhile, the boy's family had been searching frantically across multiple locations, distressed by his sudden disappearance. The officers guided them to a designated spot where the emotional reunion took place.
Second Rescue: Three-Year-Old Found Near Supermarket
In a separate incident reported from KR Puram on the afternoon of April 7, police faced another challenging situation involving a missing three-year-old boy. Assistant Sub-Inspector Nagaraj and Constable Chandrashekhar received a call at 2:10 PM informing them that the child had been found alone near a supermarket on 4th Cross in Ayyappanagar.
"We inferred that the boy had likely accompanied his parents to the supermarket or a nearby location before getting separated," the officers explained. Acting with impressive swiftness, they utilized the patrol vehicle's loudspeaker system to announce that the child had been found, broadcasting his name throughout the neighborhood.
Their prompt and strategic efforts proved highly effective. Within just 20 minutes, they successfully located the boy's parents and facilitated another heartwarming family reunion. The efficient use of available resources and community engagement demonstrated the effectiveness of Bengaluru's patrol system in handling sensitive missing persons cases.
Community Policing and Rapid Response
These incidents highlight several important aspects of urban policing:
- Immediate response to community alerts
- Inter-unit coordination between different patrol teams
- Community engagement through local inquiries
- Resource utilization including loudspeaker systems for rapid communication
- Sensitivity in handling cases involving specially abled individuals
The successful resolutions of both cases within relatively short timeframes prevented potential dangers and demonstrated how coordinated police efforts can effectively address community concerns. Bengaluru's Hoysala patrol system continues to play a crucial role in maintaining public safety through visible presence and responsive action.
