Police in Chandauli district have launched a new digital platform called the 'Pabandi' portal. This technology-driven initiative aims to improve transparency and effectiveness in handling sensitive cases and preventive legal proceedings.

The portal implementation follows directives from DGP Rajeev Krishna. Superintendent of Police Aditya Langeh is supervising the project in Chandauli district.
Monitoring Preventive Action Cases
Langeh explained the portal's primary function. It enables continuous monitoring of preventive action cases registered under Sections 126 and 135 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. These sections correspond to former Sections 107 and 116 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The main objective is strengthening district-level law and order. The portal ensures effective oversight of preventive policing measures throughout Chandauli.
Handling Sensitive Matters
Police are using the platform to monitor preventive actions in various sensitive areas. These include property disputes, breaches of public peace, and disputes involving women. The system also tracks communal tensions and election-related rivalries.
This initiative has significantly enhanced transparency across the district. It has improved efficiency and accountability in preventive policing operations.
Automated Case Processing
Here is how the system works in practice:
- A general diary entry related to any dispute gets recorded at a police station
- The case immediately uploads to the portal
- The portal asks a structured set of questions
- Based on responses, it automatically categorizes each case
Cases receive classification as high risk, medium risk, or low risk. This automated process happens without manual intervention.
Artificial Intelligence Backend
The portal's backend runs on Artificial Intelligence technology. This AI system streamlines preventive policing processes. It accelerates case handling through automated analysis.
AI-assisted analysis performs several critical functions:
- Identifying risk levels for each case
- Tracking repeat offenders across the district
- Ensuring timely follow-ups on pending matters
- Automatically generating alerts for pending preventive action files
Current Implementation Status
Police have already reviewed and monitored over 5,000 preventive action cases through the portal. These cases span across Chandauli district. The active monitoring continues as new cases enter the system daily.
