A man was booked in Ahmedabad on Sunday for allegedly assaulting his friend over a dispute about drinking water. The incident occurred on April 28 in the Gomtipur area. The complainant, Vishal Makwana, a daily wager residing in Custodian Chawl, filed a police complaint on Sunday.
Incident Details
According to Vishal's complaint, he was playing mobile games with friends near Hiralal Chawl on the night of April 28. Around 11:30 p.m., their acquaintance Gautam Solanki, who lives in Purshottam Modi Chawl, arrived in an autorickshaw and asked one of the friends for a bottle of water. Vishal also requested water from the same friend, which allegedly angered Gautam. The accused used abusive language against Vishal, leading to a scuffle between the two. The other three friends intervened and separated them.
Attack with a Stick
Vishal told police that while he was walking back home, Gautam allegedly returned armed with a stick and attacked him. Vishal suffered injuries on his forehead, face, and near the right ear. As locals gathered, Gautam fled the scene. Vishal briefly lost consciousness and was rushed to Civil Hospital in an 108 ambulance, where he received stitches on his forehead and outpatient treatment.
Delayed Complaint
Police stated that Vishal delayed filing the complaint because he was friends with Gautam. The case was registered on Sunday, and investigations are ongoing.
