In a disturbing late-night event, a group of six persons allegedly vandalized a car and threatened a resident in Ahmedabad, according to statements from the Naranpura police on Thursday. This incident has ignited significant apprehension among local residents, who are increasingly worried about a recent surge in neighborhood hooliganism and the overall security during nighttime hours in the area.
Details of the Vandalism and Threats
Based on the official complaint, the chaos began around 10:15 PM on Monday when the complainant was startled by loud, crashing noises emanating from outside his residence. Upon stepping out to investigate, he discovered a group of men systematically damaging his parked vehicle using sticks and stones. The attack resulted in the shattering of the windscreen, rear glass, and all windows, with the vehicle's body also suffering extensive damage. Preliminary estimates place the financial losses at approximately Rs 80,000.
The accused did not stop there; they also allegedly targeted a neighbor's property, damaging a CCTV camera and windowpanes in what appears to be an effort to eliminate potential video evidence. During this rampage, the individuals hurled abuses and issued threats to anyone who attempted to intervene, further escalating the situation.
