Burglar Targets Physiotherapist's Home in Ahmedabad, Escapes with Valuables
In a concerning incident in Ahmedabad, a burglar made off with cash and jewellery valued at approximately Rs 1.48 lakh from a physiotherapist's rented apartment located in the Ambawadi area. The Ellisbridge police confirmed the details of the theft on Tuesday, highlighting a case of house break-in that has left the local community on alert.
Details of the Theft Incident
According to the official complaint filed on February 11 by the physiotherapist, who resides in the apartment, the burglary occurred on February 9 between 3:00 PM and 9:45 PM. The complainant reported that she had securely locked her flat before leaving in the afternoon to attend to a patient in the Chandranagar area of Ahmedabad.
Upon her return home around 9:45 PM, she was met with a distressing scene: the door latch was broken, and the main door was found ajar. Inside the apartment, household items were scattered across the floor, and a wooden cupboard had been forcibly opened, indicating the intruder's efforts to access valuables.
Stolen Items and Police Investigation
The stolen items from the cupboard included Rs 1.46 lakh in cash, a silver bracelet worth Rs 2,000, and two gold bangles, bringing the total estimated loss to Rs 1.48 lakh. The Ellisbridge police have registered a formal case of house break-in and are actively investigating the matter to identify and apprehend the suspect.
