8 Caught High on Drugs at Hyderabad DJ Artbat Show in EAGLE Raid
8 Test Positive for Drugs at Hyderabad DJ Artbat Event

In a targeted operation on Saturday night, sleuths from the Enforcement Agency for Greyhound and Law Enforcement (EAGLE) apprehended eight individuals for alleged drug consumption during a performance by renowned Ukrainian disc jockey Artbat in Hyderabad's Kondapur area.

Raids and Screening at the Venue

Acting on a specific tip-off that some attendees were under the influence of narcotics, the EAGLE team conducted a surprise preventive enforcement drive at the event venue. The police employed advanced drug screening kits to test suspected individuals.

Out of 14 persons screened, eight tested positive for consuming banned substances. Officials confirmed that five of these individuals voluntarily admitted to drug use. To ensure accuracy, the authorities conducted re-tests using different equipment, which corroborated the initial positive results.

Suspects and a Surprising Negative

Authorities revealed that all eight persons who tested positive were already on the suspect list of the EAGLE Force. Investigations suggested that they had abused drugs before arriving at the party premises.

In a contrasting turn, a young person who was previously apprehended as a suspected drug consumer tested negative during this particular operation.

Heightened Vigilance Ahead of New Year

The raid is part of a broader crackdown in the lead-up to New Year celebrations. EAGLE officials disclosed startling statistics from the last ten days alone.

In 17 separate cases, the force has apprehended 27 alleged drug peddlers, 17 consumers, and five foreign national women. The seized contraband paints a picture of heightened drug activity:

  • 68 grams of Cocaine
  • 50.5 grams of MDMA
  • 2 grams of LSD blots
  • A massive 381.93 kilograms of Ganja

Issuing a stern advisory, EAGLE officials strongly urged the youth not to fall prey to drugs in the name of party culture, music events, or momentary pleasure, especially with New Year festivities around the corner.
