Within a 24-hour period, separate tragic incidents in Kanpur Dehat, Varanasi, and Jaunpur have collectively claimed at least eight lives and left thirteen individuals injured.

Brothers Among Victims in Kanpur Dehat Canal Tragedy

In a particularly heartbreaking incident in Kanpur Dehat district, three individuals lost their lives when their vehicle plunged into the Ramganga canal. The accident occurred on Friday afternoon in Rasoolabad town when the car they were traveling in reportedly lost control and fell into the waterway. Among the deceased were two brothers identified as Rakesh Srivastava, aged 54, and Radhesh Srivastava, aged 42. The identity of the car driver remains unknown at this time. A fourth occupant, Abhishek (26), who is the son of Rakesh Srivastava, sustained injuries in the crash. All victims were residents of Bahraich Road in Gonda.

Student Lives Cut Short in Separate Kanpur Dehat Collision

In another tragic accident within Kanpur Dehat district, two young female students lost their lives in a violent collision between an auto-rickshaw and a DCM truck. The incident took place at Kausam Crossing in Gajner on Friday, resulting in the deaths of Ritu, aged 17, and Khushi, aged 16. Three other individuals sustained serious injuries in the crash. Local authorities have taken the DCM truck driver into custody following the accident, and all injured persons were promptly admitted to the district hospital for medical treatment.

Fatal Bike Collision on Varanasi Bridge

Moving to Varanasi district, a fatal collision occurred on the Babhanpura Ganga bridge under the jurisdiction of the Chaubeypur police station area. The accident happened late on Thursday when a motorcycle carrying three individuals collided with a four-wheeler vehicle transporting devotees from Andhra Pradesh. The motorcycle riders—identified as Ravindra Mishra and Shriman Narayan Yadav—were traveling from Chandauli towards Varanasi on the Ring Road when the tragic collision occurred. Remarkably, no occupants of the four-wheeler sustained injuries, and a minor boy who was also on the motorcycle escaped unharmed.

Head-On Collision Claims Life in Jaunpur District

In Jaunpur district, a violent head-on collision between an SUV and a tractor resulted in one fatality and nine injuries. The accident occurred early Friday morning at Puramukund village on National Highway 731 in the Badlapur area. A teenager lost his life at the scene of the accident, while six individuals traveling on the tractor and three occupants of the SUV sustained serious injuries in the crash. Emergency responders worked to transport all injured persons to medical facilities for treatment.

These consecutive tragedies across multiple Uttar Pradesh districts have highlighted critical road safety issues that require immediate attention from authorities.
