New Delhi witnessed a disturbing incident of public altercation involving minors on Saturday evening in the Farsh Bazar area of northeast Delhi. Three minors were apprehended by the police after a scuffle broke out, which was allegedly triggered by objectionable comments made by a 17-year-old boy towards two underage girls.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Altercation
The incident came to light when police at the Farsh Bazar police station received information around 6 pm on Saturday. According to initial reports, the 17-year-old boy allegedly made inappropriate remarks directed at a 16-year-old girl and her 14-year-old friend. When the girls objected to his comments, the situation turned violent as the boy allegedly assaulted them.
Hearing the commotion, the minor cousins of the girls intervened in an attempt to protect them. This intervention led to a physical confrontation between the groups. In a further escalation, the boy reportedly called his own minor friends to the spot, turning the disagreement into a larger scuffle.
Injuries, Damage, and Police Investigation
The altercation resulted in tangible harm and property damage. A senior police officer stated that the two cousins of the girls suffered minor injuries during the fight. Furthermore, a scooter parked near the scene of the incident was damaged in the melee.
CCTV footage from the area captured the tense scene. The video shows two groups of boys engaged in a heated argument while the girls stand nearby, visibly angry and pointing fingers. As more boys join the gathering, the situation intensifies. One boy is seen holding a stick-like object, which is later taken by another.

The footage graphically details the escalation. The group is seen pushing one boy, which disturbs the parked scooter. They then corner him a short distance away and proceed to assault him intermittently with sticks, despite attempts by locals to intervene. In a brazen follow-up, people are seen chasing the group, which returns after a few minutes carrying more sticks and proceeds to damage the scooter further.
The police action led to the apprehension of three minors in connection with the case. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of involvement and to address the serious allegations of harassment and subsequent violence that disrupted the peace in the Farsh Bazar locality.
