A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district has claimed the lives of three members of a family, leaving a young child critically injured. The incident occurred on Sunday evening when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a tractor-trolley.

The Fatal Collision Near Jansath Flyover

The accident took place around 8:30 pm on Sunday near the Jansath flyover and Gokul City area. This location falls under the jurisdiction of the Nai Mandi police station. The family was returning to their home in Jadauda village within the Mansurpur area of the district when their bike rammed into the stationary or slow-moving tractor-trolley.

Victims and Immediate Aftermath

The deceased have been identified as Sonu Singh (35), who worked as a factory worker, his wife Radhika (30), and their 10-year-old daughter, Riya. Their 7-year-old son, Kala, sustained severe injuries in the crash.

Passersby at the scene quickly alerted the police. Sonu died on the spot due to the impact. The other three victims were rushed to a local hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite efforts to save them, both Radhika and young Riya later succumbed to their injuries. The critically injured boy, Kala, was referred to the district hospital for advanced treatment.

Police Action and Investigation

Muzaffarnagar's Senior Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Verma, confirmed the incident and stated that "action is being taken as per the rules." The standard legal procedures following a fatal road accident are being followed. After the necessary post-mortem examinations were completed, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their grieving family members for last rites.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the persistent issue of road safety in the region, especially on highways and near flyovers after dark. It serves as a grim reminder for all vehicle users to exercise extreme caution, particularly during night travel.
