In a major crackdown targeting criminal networks, the Panchkula police have arrested 29 individuals over a span of four days under the Haryana government's 'Operation Hotspot Domination'. The coordinated raids, which concluded recently, focused on 101 identified hotspots across the district and led to significant seizures of weapons, cash, and illicit substances.
Massive Coordinated Raids Across District
According to official statements, the intensive combing operations were a joint effort involving teams from the Crime Branch, all local police stations, and various checkpoints. The drive, which ran from December 3 to December 6, 2025, aimed specifically at weapon suppliers, absconders, drug peddlers, thieves, gamblers, and liquor smugglers.
The police action has significantly tightened security in sensitive areas. The haul from the raids included:
- One country-made pistol
- One live cartridge
- Six suspicious motorcycles
- Cash amounting to Rs 1.18 lakh
- A tanker
- 80 bottles of illicit liquor
In a related move, authorities inspected two gun houses to verify license compliance and storage norms. In a decisive step to prevent an escape, the police have also sent a proposal to cancel the passport of one absconding accused.
Key Arrests and Narcotics Bust
Officials revealed that among the 29 arrested, nine were long-time absconders involved in violent and serious offences, who had been evading capture for months.
In a parallel action under the same operation, the Anti-Narcotics Cell achieved a significant breakthrough. Acting on a tip-off, they arrested a 24-year-old drug supplier identified as Karan Kumar near the Sukhomajri bypass on the Pinjore–Baddi Highway.
From his possession, the police recovered a commercial quantity of 1,320 Lomotil tablets, a controlled medicine for which he had no license. A case under Sections 22(C) and 27(A) of the NDPS Act has been registered against him. Kumar has been remanded to two days of police custody as investigators work to trace his suppliers, buyers, and the wider distribution network.
Impact and Ongoing Investigations
The 'Operation Hotspot Domination' has delivered a substantial blow to organized crime in the Panchkula region. The arrest of persistent absconders and the interception of drug and weapon supply chains underscore the operation's targeted approach.
Police authorities have stated that the crackdown is ongoing, with further investigations underway to dismantle the financial and logistical networks supporting these illegal activities. The success of this four-day blitz highlights the effectiveness of coordinated, intelligence-led police work in enhancing public safety and law enforcement dominance in known crime hotspots.
