A significant step towards joining the state's police force was taken by thousands of aspirants in Coimbatore this past Sunday. The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) successfully conducted the written examination for the post of Sub-Inspector, witnessing a robust turnout across two major venues in the city.

The examination saw a total of 2,725 candidates appearing for the crucial test. According to the data released, a substantial number of male candidates, 2,300, took the exam, while 425 women aspirants also participated, showcasing a growing interest in uniformed services among women. Originally, 2,546 men and 614 women were enrolled for the examination, indicating the level of competition for these coveted positions.
Exam Conducted at Two Premier College Campuses
To accommodate the large number of applicants, the board organized the test at two well-known educational institutions in Coimbatore. The primary centres were the PSG College of Arts and Science located on Avinashi Road and the NGP College campus situated on Kalappatti Road. The use of these established college campuses ensured the smooth administration of the exam, providing a conducive environment for the candidates.
