Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Monday disbursed more than Rs 61 crore to over 79,000 beneficiaries who were earlier excluded from the state government's flagship 'Subhadra' scheme due to technical and verification-related issues. The financial assistance was transferred directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system during a virtual programme held in Bhubaneswar.
Details of Disbursement
Officials of the Women and Child Development Department stated that many beneficiaries failed to receive earlier instalments because of issues such as inactive NPCI linkage, biometric e-KYC errors, and pending grievance resolutions. According to official figures, 21,901 beneficiaries received the first instalment, 22,347 beneficiaries received the second instalment, and 79,601 beneficiaries received the third instalment under the scheme after completion of verification and clearance of pending cases at various administrative levels.
Government's Commitment
Addressing the programme, Parida emphasised that the government is committed to ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of the scheme's benefits. She stressed that all genuine cases would be resolved through a robust verification and grievance redressal mechanism. "The government is making every effort to ensure inclusion of every eligible woman under the Subhadra scheme. Financial empowerment of women remains one of our top priorities," she said.
Review of Pending Cases
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed the status of pending and left-out cases with district administrations, particularly in Ganjam, Jajpur, and Kalahandi districts. She directed officials to expedite verification and ensure that eligible beneficiaries are included without delay. The Subhadra scheme aims to provide financial assistance to women, and the government has been working to resolve technical glitches and verification issues to ensure smooth disbursement of funds.
