Jaipur Teacher Suspended for Neglecting Census Duties

The Jaipur district administration has suspended a government school teacher for allegedly failing to perform duties assigned under the ongoing preparations for Census 2027. District Collector and Principal Census Officer Sandesh Nayak issued the suspension order against Anju Verma, a Class II English teacher posted at the Government Senior Secondary School in Dehra, Jobner, citing negligence and non-compliance with official instructions.

Details of the Suspension

According to officials, Verma was formally relieved of her teaching responsibilities by the school administration to undertake census-related work. However, she allegedly failed to report for duty as an enumerator despite repeated directions from authorized officers. The district collector took a serious view of this inaction, negligence, and deliberate defiance of orders issued regarding a task as critical as the census.

Official Statement

“Taking a serious view of this inaction, negligence and deliberate defiance of orders issued by authorised officials regarding a task as critical as the census, the district collector has suspended her with immediate effect,” stated an official release issued by the district collector. Following the suspension, Verma has been attached to the office of the Chief Block Education Officer in Jobner during the suspension period.
