TTD Sets Up Command Centre for 66 Temples Surveillance

TTD Launches Major Security Overhaul with Integrated Command Centre in Tirupati

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), India's largest conglomerate of Hindu temples, is embarking on a significant security enhancement project. With 66 temples spread across the country, TTD is set to establish a new integrated command control centre at its administrative headquarters in Tirupati. This initiative aims to centralize surveillance operations, marking a first-of-its-kind effort to network all TTD properties under a unified security system.

Expanding Surveillance Beyond Temples

While TTD already operates a dedicated command centre in Tirumala, linked to over 3000 CCTV cameras, the new facility will extend coverage to all 66 temples nationwide. Additionally, it will include other critical TTD assets such as hospitals, educational institutions, hostels, and marketing godowns. This comprehensive approach ensures that key establishments managed by the Tirupati trust are monitored round-the-clock.

Funding and Infrastructure Development

The TTD trust board, under Chairman BR Naidu, has approved a budget of Rs 10.75 crore for this project. These funds will be utilized to construct a state-of-the-art integrated command control centre within the TTD administrative building premises in Tirupati. The investment underscores TTD's commitment to leveraging advanced technology for enhanced security and management.

Collaboration with Security Experts

To implement the best surveillance mechanisms, TTD's chief vigilance and security officer K V Murali Krishna and additional CVSIO TV Siva Kumar Reddy have engaged in extensive discussions with security experts from across India. Their collaborative efforts focus on designing a robust system that integrates seamlessly with TTD's diverse assets.

Comprehensive Asset Coverage

The integrated command control centre will oversee a wide array of TTD properties, including:

  • 66 temples located throughout India
  • 33 schools and colleges
  • 25 hostels
  • 10 medical institutions, such as Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences and Balaji Institute of Research and Rehabilitation of the Disabled
  • 31 other establishments, including marketing godowns and Goshala

Deployment of Advanced Surveillance Technology

As part of this project, TTD plans to install and integrate approximately 3500 CCTV surveillance cameras with the new command centre. This network will enable continuous monitoring of all major assets, ensuring heightened security and operational efficiency across the country. The move represents a significant step forward in modernizing TTD's infrastructure and safeguarding its revered institutions.
