Rangla Punjab: Rs 50.4 Lakh for Home Repairs in Ludhiana

The Punjab state government has approved financial assistance for 144 beneficiaries from economically weaker sections to repair their homes under the Rangla Punjab scheme. Each recipient, primarily residing in the Jawahar Nagar camp area of Ward 72, will receive Rs 35,000 to fix dilapidated roofs. The total expenditure for this initiative amounts to Rs 50.4 lakh.

Proposal Approved by Municipal Corporation

The proposal was recently cleared by the Ludhiana municipal corporation's finance and contracts committee after officials verified the poor condition of the houses. In addition to damaged roofs, inspectors found that several homes also had broken floors and door frames, necessitating comprehensive repairs.

Broader Rangla Punjab Initiative

Under the wider Rangla Punjab initiative, six urban MLAs have each been allocated Rs 2.5 crore for development works. These funds are being utilized for various projects, including the construction of libraries, community halls, and the development of public parks across the constituency.
