Nagpur Revenue and Forest Department Enforces Complete e-Office Transition

The revenue and forest department in Nagpur has issued a directive requiring all field-level offices under its jurisdiction to immediately switch to the e-Office system for all correspondence and file submissions. According to a recent circular, no physical mail will be accepted at the government level, marking a significant shift towards digital operations.

End of Hand-Delivered and Email Correspondence

The circular highlighted that while the secretariat has fully transitioned to e-Office, field offices have continued to send correspondence through hand delivery and email. Both methods will no longer be treated as official communication. All correspondence, including district-wise references, must now be routed exclusively through the e-Office system to designated registry staff at the secretariat, who will then forward them to the relevant section officers.

Specific Assignments and Infrastructure Requirements

To streamline the process, the circular assigned specific registry staff at the secretariat to handle correspondence from different revenue divisions. It emphasized that field offices lacking necessary equipment such as scanners, computers, or digital signature tokens must arrange for them immediately. Staff requiring training on the e-Office system are instructed to contact local MahaIT or NIC offices to organize training sessions or seek assistance from available IT assistants.
