Ludhiana Mayor Issues Directives to Accelerate Infrastructure Projects

In a significant move to enhance urban infrastructure, Mayor Inderjit Kaur convened a crucial meeting with municipal officials at the MC Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar on Monday. The primary focus was on expediting the canal-based water supply project and ensuring the swift reconstruction of roads across the city.

Immediate Action on Road Restoration and Water Supply Lines

During the meeting, Mayor Inderjit Kaur issued strict instructions to officials, emphasizing the need for immediate road reconstruction in areas where water supply lines have already been installed. She directed the team to streamline all activities under the canal-based water supply initiative, aiming to complete the laying of pipelines at the earliest possible time to reduce disruptions for residents.

Mayor Inderjit Kaur highlighted that the installation of water supply lines is currently underway throughout the city as part of the canal-based project. She urged officials to accelerate execution to prevent ground-level difficulties for citizens. "Unnecessary delays in completing connected works, including road restoration, will not be tolerated," she asserted, stressing the importance of timely project completion.

She further instructed officials from the water utility company to maintain close coordination with civic authorities, ensuring that all projects are carried out smoothly with meticulous planning. Emphasis was placed on synchronizing different stages of work to avoid repeated road digging, which has been a common source of public inconvenience.

Monitoring and Oversight of Development Projects

The mayor noted that development projects worth crores of rupees are currently in progress across Ludhiana. To ensure accountability and progress, senior officials have been directed to monitor the status of these works on a daily basis. "I will also keep a strict vigil to ensure that residents do not face any inconvenience due to ongoing projects," Mayor Inderjit Kaur stated, reaffirming her commitment to public welfare and efficient urban management.
