LPG Cylinder Delivery Delays Hit Lucknow Households Hard

LPG Cylinder Delivery Delays Disrupt Daily Life Across Lucknow

The persistent disruption in LPG supply is causing significant distress for households throughout Lucknow, with numerous consumers experiencing extended delays in cylinder deliveries even after completing their bookings. Residents from multiple localities, including Indira Nagar, Aliganj, Gomti Nagar, Rajajipuram, Balaganj, Alambagh, and Jankipuram, have reported similar issues, stating they have been waiting for several days for their refills to arrive.

Consumers Forced to Adopt Alternative Cooking Methods

Aftab Ahmad, a resident of Balaganj, shared his frustration, noting that he booked a cylinder seven days ago but has yet to receive it. "We had no option left. I had to buy an induction cooktop to manage cooking," he explained. In Aliganj, Neha Srivastava described how her family has been coping with limited gas for the past week, highlighting the daily challenges faced by many.

Booking System Failures Exacerbate the Crisis

In some instances, consumers are unable to even place bookings, adding to their woes. Pankaj Mishra of Mahanagar recounted his attempts to book a cylinder through the IVRS system, which repeatedly failed. "I couldn't complete booking despite repeated attempts," he said, pointing to technical glitches that hinder access to essential services.

Distributors Claim Situation is Improving Gradually

LPG distributors have responded to the crisis by asserting that the situation is showing signs of improvement. An official stated, "Most of the demand has already been met, and the remaining backlog will be cleared within a day or two." However, these assurances have done little to alleviate the immediate disruptions faced by households.

Widespread Impact on Routine Life and Calls for Action

Despite the promises from authorities, the delays have severely disrupted routine life for many families, particularly those who rely solely on LPG for their cooking needs. The inconvenience has prompted consumers to urge authorities and agencies to ensure a stable and timely supply to prevent further hardship. Key concerns include:

  • Extended waiting periods for cylinder deliveries
  • Inability to complete bookings due to system failures
  • Forced adoption of alternative cooking methods
  • Disruption of daily household routines

As the city grapples with this supply chain issue, residents remain hopeful for a swift resolution to restore normalcy in their kitchens and daily lives.
