In response to the recent destructive storms, heavy rains, and hailstorms that have ravaged agricultural lands, District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh has issued urgent directives to district officials in Kanpur. On Monday, Singh mandated the immediate commencement of a comprehensive survey to evaluate crop damage across affected areas, emphasizing the need for swift action to support distressed farmers.

Jitendra Pratap Singh has instructed all lekhpals to conduct a meticulous, plot-wise and area-wise assessment of crop damage within their respective jurisdictions. This detailed evaluation is crucial for accurately determining the extent of losses and facilitating appropriate relief measures.
Furthermore, the District Magistrate has tasked all Sub-Divisional Magistrates with the responsibility of regularly overseeing the survey work performed by the lekhpals. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted increased cloud movement with intermittent sunshine for the Kanpur division. Day temperatures are expected to show fluctuations, while night temperatures may experience a slight rise due to the cloud cover.
Additionally, wind speeds could reach between 30 to 50 kmph from evening through the night, potentially posing further risks to already vulnerable crops. Recent weather data indicates that Kanpur recorded a maximum temperature of 32.4°C, which is 3.8°C below the normal level, and a minimum temperature of 15.6°C, also below the average, highlighting the unusual climatic conditions affecting the region.
