In a significant administrative overhaul, the Haryana government on Tuesday issued immediate transfer and posting orders for six senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) officers. This move is part of a strategic realignment of key bureaucratic positions within the state administration.
Key Appointments and Their Implications
Sudhir Rajpal has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary of Home, Jails, Criminal Investigation, and Administration of Justice. In addition to these critical responsibilities, he has been entrusted with the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary for Environment, Forests, and Wildlife. This consolidation of roles underscores the government's focus on integrating security and environmental governance.
Sumita Misra has been named Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue (FCR), along with overseeing the Disaster Management Department. Having served as the link officer for this post over the past year, her formal appointment places her in one of the most senior positions in the state bureaucracy, second only to the Chief Secretary. Furthermore, she will assume the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary for Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research, and Ayush, filling a vacancy left by Sudhir Rajpal's reassignment.
Strategic Postings Ahead of Budget
Arun Kumar Gupta steps into the role of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Haryana, while also taking on the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary for Finance and Planning. This appointment is particularly noteworthy as it comes just before the state budget, indicating a strategic move to streamline financial oversight and planning at the highest level.
Saket Kumar has been posted as Commissioner and Secretary for Urban Local Bodies. He will continue to serve as Member Secretary of the Kurukshetra Development Board, balancing these duties with his existing responsibilities to enhance urban governance and development initiatives.
Additional Key Changes in the Bureaucracy
In another pivotal adjustment, Ram Kumar Singh has been appointed as Special Secretary for Revenue and Disaster Management. Concurrently, he has been named Managing Director and CEO of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority, highlighting a dual focus on revenue management and metropolitan development.
Vinay Kumar, an IRPS officer, has been posted as Municipal Commissioner of Panchkula. He will also hold the additional charges of District Municipal Commissioner for Panchkula and Officer on Special Duty at the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, reinforcing administrative efficiency at the municipal level.
