Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi Inaugurates Rs 538 Crore Projects in Vadodara
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi inaugurated and launched multiple development projects with a total value of Rs 538 crore in Vadodara on Friday. The highlight of this significant investment is the state-of-the-art police command and control centre, named Netram, which represents a major technological advancement for urban security and surveillance in the city.
Netram Police Command and Control Centre
The newly inaugurated Netram facility is designed to integrate surveillance cameras installed by various government agencies and private entities across Vadodara. Currently, the system has successfully linked 1,316 cameras from different locations throughout the city, creating a comprehensive monitoring network that enhances law enforcement capabilities and public safety measures.
Sanghavi announced that the command centre will undergo future upgrades incorporating artificial intelligence technology. These enhancements will enable advanced features including facial recognition systems and automatic number plate recognition, significantly improving the efficiency and effectiveness of police operations and crime prevention strategies.
Strategic Location and Infrastructure
The command centre has been established on the eighth floor of Police Bhavan on Jail Road, providing a centralized hub for monitoring and coordinating security operations. This facility marks the second such control centre in Vadodara, complementing the existing Vadodara Municipal Corporation's control centre located at Badamdi Baug, thereby strengthening the city's overall security infrastructure.
Additional Development Projects
In addition to the police command centre, Sanghavi inaugurated a new office building for the joint charity commissioner and the public trust registration office near Polo Ground. This modern facility, constructed at a cost of Rs 4.12 crore, replaces an older structure that previously occupied the same location. The new building provides improved working conditions and enhanced service delivery for charitable organizations and public trust registrations in the region.
The substantial investment of Rs 538 crore across these projects demonstrates the government's commitment to infrastructure development and technological advancement in Vadodara. These initiatives are expected to significantly improve public safety, administrative efficiency, and overall quality of life for residents while positioning the city as a leader in smart urban management solutions.
