"Neither proper barricading was installed around the open drain nor were reflector tapes or warning signs placed at the location," he explained. "Due to this complete absence of safety arrangements, the driver couldn't gauge the pit's presence, causing the truck to fall straight into the drain."

Traffic Inspector Manoj confirmed that discussions are currently underway with Gurgaon Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) officials regarding implementing proper safety arrangements near the drain to prevent similar accidents in the future.

According to official sources, numerous deep pits have been excavated in areas surrounding the Dwarka Expressway, particularly near the pond in Basai village and along the route from Hero Honda Chowk toward Umang Bhardwaj Chowk. These excavations are part of various ongoing construction projects.
