DHBVN Extends Bill Payment Deadline to March 30 for Gurgaon Consumers Affected by Technical Glitches

In a significant relief measure, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has officially extended the bill payment deadline to March 30 for consumers in Gurgaon who were impacted by recent technical glitches in its system. This decision comes after nearly 1,900 consumers faced difficulties in making payments through NEFT and RTGS modes between March 23 and March 26, disrupting their ability to settle electricity bills on time.

Details of the Technical Disruption and Consumer Impact

The technical issues, which persisted for four days, specifically prevented consumers from utilizing NEFT and RTGS for bill payments. Among the affected individuals, approximately 1,526 had due dates falling on March 25 or March 27, putting them at risk of late fees or service disruptions. To address this, DHBVN managing director Vikram Singh approved the deadline extension, ensuring that consumers with registered mobile numbers in the CCB were promptly notified via SMS alerts.

DHBVN spokesperson Sanjay Chugh emphasized the proactive steps taken by the discom, stating, "The list of more than 1,900 affected consumers has been shared with the concerned circle offices so that regional officials can provide necessary assistance at the field level." This move aims to streamline support and minimize inconvenience for those grappling with the payment hurdles.

Support Mechanisms and Consumer Guidance

For consumers who encountered issues during the payment process, DHBVN has established a dedicated channel for reporting and resolution. Affected individuals are encouraged to email their concerns to seit@dhbvn.org.in, where each case will be reviewed individually and addressed as required. This personalized approach underscores the discom's commitment to ensuring fair treatment and resolving grievances efficiently.

The extension not only alleviates immediate financial pressure but also highlights the importance of robust digital infrastructure in public utilities. As Gurgaon continues to grow as a key urban center, such measures are crucial for maintaining trust and reliability in essential services like electricity distribution.
