Delhi Police Families Welfare Society Unveils New Welfare Programs at 54th Foundation Day
In New Delhi, the Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) is intensifying its efforts to provide comprehensive welfare support to police families through a multifaceted approach focusing on skill development, healthcare access, and specialized support systems. These initiatives were prominently highlighted during the 54th Foundation Day celebration held at the Adarsh auditorium in Police Headquarters.
Green Empowerment Initiative for Sustainable Livelihoods
A significant proposal introduced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the event is the "green empowerment" initiative. This program aims to foster sustainable livelihoods within police colonies by training family members to recycle textile waste into practical household products. This innovative approach not only promotes environmental sustainability but also empowers families with new income-generating skills.
Kiran Program for Children with Special Needs
PFWS President Rachna Golchha announced the upcoming launch of "Kiran," a dedicated program for children with special needs from police families. This initiative is designed to provide tailored support and resources to ensure these children receive the care and opportunities they deserve, enhancing the overall well-being of police households.
Existing Skill Development and Self-Reliance Efforts
The society continues to bolster self-reliance through established programs such as the Sutra Embroidery Centre and jute product-making courses. These initiatives equip family members with valuable skills that enable them to contribute to household incomes and achieve greater financial independence.
Comprehensive Healthcare and Collaborative Partnerships
Over the past eight months, PFWS has organized 23 health camps in collaboration with leading hospitals, including Medanta, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, and Radix Malik Hospital. These camps provide essential medical services and screenings to police families, ensuring better health outcomes.
Additionally, PFWS has forged partnerships with various private firms and organizations such as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities, Singer India, and Sahyog Care4U. These collaborations are instrumental in driving skill development initiatives that enhance employability and personal growth among family members.
Release of Annual Magazine and Digital Version
The Foundation Day event also marked the release of the 10th edition of PFWS's annual magazine, Koshish Ek Asha, along with its digital version. This publication serves as a platform to share success stories, updates on welfare activities, and inspirational content, further strengthening the community bond among police families.
Through these expanded efforts, the Police Families Welfare Society is making significant strides in improving the quality of life for police families in Delhi, ensuring they receive the support and resources needed to thrive in various aspects of life.
