Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister virtually inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development projects worth Rs 34.31 crore at Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry in Nauni.
Key Projects Inaugurated
The CM inaugurated a newly constructed boys' hostel with a capacity of 100 students, built at a cost of Rs 4.25 crore. Additionally, a state-of-the-art soil and water testing laboratory was inaugurated, costing Rs 2.5 crore, which will aid research and extension activities.
Foundation Stones Laid
Foundation stones were laid for a multipurpose hall with a seating capacity of 500, estimated at Rs 6.5 crore. A new academic block for the College of Forestry will be constructed with an outlay of Rs 8.2 crore. Furthermore, a modern cafeteria and a centralized research facility were also part of the projects, with costs of Rs 3.2 crore and Rs 9.66 crore respectively.
Government's Vision
The Chief Minister emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and promoting research in horticulture and forestry. He stated that these projects would provide better facilities for students and faculty, and contribute to the region's agricultural development.
The university officials expressed gratitude and assured that the projects would be completed within the stipulated time frame, benefiting the academic community and the state's horticulture sector.
