Buxar District Magistrate Reviews Crisis Management Preparedness

District Magistrate Sahila chaired a crucial meeting of senior district officials at the collectorate on Tuesday to comprehensively review crisis management preparedness. The high-level gathering included Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya and other key administrative figures, focusing on proactive measures to address potential emergencies and resource shortages.

Immediate Action on LPG Cylinder Supply Issues

District Magistrate Sahila issued specific directives to address concerns regarding LPG cylinder availability. Sub-Divisional Officers Avinash Kumar of Buxar and Rakesh Kumar of Dumraon were instructed to conduct thorough inspections of all gas agencies within their jurisdictions. They must submit detailed reports on current stock levels and supply chain status.

A particular Dumraon-based gas agency was summoned to provide a formal explanation for maintaining zero stock of LPG cylinders. The DM emphasized that no gas agency should operate with empty inventories, especially during periods of high demand.

Combatting Black Marketing and Hoarding

All Block Development Officers, Circle Officers, and Station House Officers received clear instructions to actively monitor and verify any complaints regarding black marketing or hoarding of LPG cylinders. They were directed to take immediate legal action against violators to ensure fair distribution and prevent artificial shortages.

Additionally, the district agriculture officer was tasked with investigating potential fertilizer black marketing through block-level officers. An updated report on fertilizer availability and distribution practices must be submitted promptly to identify and address any irregularities.

Database Creation for Migrant Laborers

Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya directed all Station House Officers to collaborate with local chowkidars to prepare a comprehensive database of migrant laborers returning to Buxar. This initiative aims to better understand population movements and facilitate support services for returning workers.

Enhanced Consumer Protection Measures

The District Magistrate outlined several consumer protection measures for gas agencies to implement immediately. Agencies experiencing high booking demand must coordinate effectively to maintain adequate supply levels and prevent shortages. All gas agencies were mandated to complete e-KYC verification for consumers and establish dedicated service counters to streamline operations and reduce customer inconvenience.

Agencies received a stern warning regarding delivery discrepancies. They must thoroughly investigate cases where consumers receive delivery confirmation messages without actually receiving cylinders. Failure to address such issues promptly will result in legal consequences, ensuring accountability in the distribution process.

This comprehensive review meeting demonstrates Buxar administration's commitment to strengthening crisis response mechanisms and ensuring essential commodities reach consumers without disruption or exploitation.
