Buxar District Administration Confirms Stable LPG Supply, No Shortage Reported
In a significant development addressing public concerns, District Magistrate Sahila of Buxar district has officially confirmed that there is no shortage of cooking gas in the region. The announcement came on Monday, providing much-needed reassurance to residents about the availability of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders.
Comprehensive Supply Network Maintains Smooth Operations
The district administration has revealed that LPG supply is being maintained smoothly through an extensive network of 27 gas agencies. These agencies are linked to three major public sector oil companies: Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. This multi-agency approach ensures robust distribution capabilities across Buxar district.
Impressive distribution figures highlight the scale of operations. Between March 13 and March 29, a substantial total of 83,649 gas cylinders were successfully distributed to consumers throughout the district. This represents a significant volume of household fuel being delivered during this critical period.
Current Stock Levels and Daily Supply Metrics
As of March 29, the gas agencies maintained a healthy stock of 2,630 cylinders, providing a buffer that ensures stable supply continuity. This inventory management is crucial for preventing disruptions in household cooking fuel availability.
The district's average daily demand for LPG cylinders stands at approximately 6,419 units. Against this demand, the supply system is currently delivering around 5,889 cylinders daily. While there is a slight gap between demand and supply, the administration emphasizes that the system is functioning effectively to meet consumer needs.
Addressing Backlog and Delivery Timelines
Currently, there are 24,057 bookings pending across the district. However, District Magistrate Sahila has assured that these pending requests are being processed quickly under close administrative supervision. The average delivery delay currently stands at 4.1 days, and concerted efforts are underway to reduce this backlog further through improved operational efficiency.
The district control room has been established specifically to address consumer complaints and streamline the distribution process, creating a direct channel for residents to report issues and seek resolution.
Administrative Measures to Ensure Fair Distribution
District Magistrate Sahila has issued a clear appeal to the public, urging people not to panic or gather unnecessarily at gas agencies. She emphasized that LPG supply adequately matches demand and that unnecessary crowding could disrupt the smooth functioning of distribution points.
The administration is implementing several proactive measures to maintain supply integrity:
- Regular inspections of gas agencies and distribution points
- Strict action against any instances of black marketing
- Vigilant monitoring to prevent hoarding of cylinders
- Continuous assessment of supply-demand dynamics
These measures are designed to ensure that cooking gas reaches consumers fairly and efficiently, without exploitation or artificial scarcity. The district administration remains committed to maintaining this essential service for all residents of Buxar.
