UP BJP's Lucknow Unit Launches Drive to Add Left-Out Voters Before Feb 6
BJP Lucknow Campaign to Include Voters Missed in Draft List

The Lucknow unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a significant campaign to ensure no eligible voter in the city is left out of the final electoral roll. This initiative comes after the release of the first Summary Revision (SIR) list, which excluded some valid names.

Meeting Sets Campaign Strategy

A crucial meeting to strategize this voter inclusion drive was held on Wednesday at the residence of BJP functionary Neeraj Singh. Key leaders present included UP BJP vice-president and Lucknow in-charge Tryambak Tripathi, and Lucknow Mahanagar president Anand Dwivedi. The meeting concluded with concrete plans for a large-scale public outreach program.

During the discussions, specific targets were set for party workers to conduct an extensive campaign. The primary objective is to assist citizens whose names were inadvertently missed in the first draft list, ensuring they are added to the official voter list.

Ensuring No Eligible Voter is Left Behind

Addressing the rationale behind the drive, Tryambak Tripathi clarified that while names of deceased, displaced, duplicate, and absent voters were rightfully removed during the purification process, genuine voters should not suffer due to procedural hurdles. "However, we must ensure that no eligible person's name is left out due to inability to submit necessary documents," Tripathi emphasized.

The party leadership has instructed its cadre to take a proactive and systematic approach. As outlined by Neeraj Singh, workers are required to:

  • Thoroughly study the published draft voter list.
  • Conduct door-to-door visits to contact and identify eligible voters left out.
  • Assist them in registering objections before the critical deadline of February 6.
  • Help in filling out the requisite forms and submitting them with necessary supporting documents.

Grassroots Mobilization for Maximum Reach

To empower workers at the most basic level, the party has ensured they have the necessary tools. Anand Dwivedi stated that printouts of the published draft list have been provided to workers at the booth level. This enables detailed, hyper-local verification.

Furthermore, teams from all party fronts and cells have been directed to coordinate with booth officials. Their mandate is to cross-review the list and personally contact eligible voters who were excluded, guiding them through the entire process to get their names added. This multi-pronged, grassroots effort underscores the party's focus on maximizing voter enrollment in the state capital ahead of future elections.
