The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been actively engaging in diplomatic conversations with several world leaders regarding the ongoing and escalating conflict in the West Asia region. This high-level outreach underscores India's commitment to fostering dialogue and de-escalation amidst growing regional tensions.
India's Diplomatic Outreach for Regional Stability
During an inter-ministerial briefing on Monday, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal detailed India's sustained diplomatic efforts. "As you are aware, the Prime Minister has been speaking to several world leaders on the ongoing conflict in the West Asia region," Jaiswal stated. These discussions are strategically focused on reducing hostilities that have intensified significantly since late February, threatening to destabilize the entire Middle East.
A key highlight of this diplomatic push was a direct conversation between Prime Minister Modi and the President of Iran over the weekend. Jaiswal noted, "On Saturday, as you are aware, he had spoken to the President of Iran. On the occasion, he also had the opportunity to convey Eid and Nowruz greetings." This exchange occurred during the festive period, with PM Modi expressing a hopeful sentiment for peace and prosperity in the region.
Condemnation of Attacks and Economic Security Concerns

"The Prime Minister condemned the attacks on critical infrastructure in the region, which threatened regional stability and disrupt global supply chains," Jaiswal elaborated.
