Noida International Airport Nears Completion Ahead of PM Modi's Inauguration
With just two days remaining until the grand inauguration, workers at Noida International Airport are putting the finishing touches on various facilities. The airport, set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 28, is buzzing with activity as teams work around the clock to ensure everything is ready for the historic event.
Final Preparations and Infrastructure Checks
A recent visit to the airport site revealed extensive work underway. Workers were seen fixing tiles, installing hoardings, and setting up three large tents for the inauguration program. These tents are designed to accommodate over one lakh people, with separate arrangements for VIPs, the general public, and media personnel.
Inside the terminal building, critical systems are undergoing final checks. This includes:
- Check-in counters
- Baggage handling systems and conveyor belts
- Boarding gates
- Flight information display systems
- Customs area facilities
Meanwhile, restrooms, seating areas, and escalators have already been made fully functional and are waiting for passengers. Crew members from a private airline company have also been deployed at the airport in preparation for operations.
Road Connectivity and Parking Arrangements
The road connecting the airport to the Yamuna Expressway, designated as a cargo passage, showed some rough patches near Kishorpur village. Officials confirmed that repair work is actively underway, with workers seen patching up these sections to ensure smooth connectivity.
Within the airport campus, road rollers were busy levelling the ground to create elaborate parking arrangements for the expected influx of visitors during the inauguration. Separate entry and exit gates have been established for VIPs and the general public, with VIPs using the link road of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway while others will access the site via the Yamuna Expressway-Kishorpur road.
Security and Visitor Facilities
Multi-layer security arrangements have been implemented throughout the venue, equipped with comprehensive CCTV camera coverage. Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, who recently visited the airport site to review preparations, provided details about visitor facilities.
"The main pandal is nearly ready," Singh stated. "This will be a grand pandal supported by two pandals on both sides to ensure visitors don't face any inconvenience. Water dispensers will be installed at short distances, and the entire campus will be equipped with a public address system to guide people."
Singh expressed confidence in the airport's potential, saying, "Jewar will make its name on the global map and it will help it grow further. I invite everyone to attend the programme and hear the Prime Minister."
Political Outreach and Economic Impact
The district administration and authorities are making elaborate arrangements to ensure the event's success. The BJP has been conducting extensive outreach programs in Noida, Greater Noida, Bulandshahr, and neighboring areas to invite people to the inauguration.
MP Gautam Buddh Nagar Mahesh Sharma conducted a public outreach program in Khurja, Bulandshahr, visiting several villages, interacting with locals, and inviting them to attend the inauguration ceremony in large numbers at 9:30 AM on Saturday.
Sharma highlighted the airport's expected benefits, stating, "The commencement of operations at Noida International Airport will generate new employment opportunities, boost trade and industry, and significantly improve regional connectivity. The project is expected to enhance the state's identity at both national and international levels."
The airport represents a significant infrastructure milestone for the region, with its inauguration marking the beginning of enhanced air connectivity and economic development for Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region.
