Jaisalmer-Based Officers Receive Prestigious Republic Day Honors from President Murmu
In a significant recognition of exceptional service and valor, four senior officers from Rajasthan have been approved for prestigious awards by President Droupadi Murmu on the eve of the 77th Republic Day. These officers, serving in key defense and security forces, have demonstrated outstanding commitment to national security from their positions in Jaisalmer.
Air Force Commander Honored for Combat Leadership
Group Captain Amit Dubey (VSM), the Air Force Station Commander at the Jaisalmer air base, has been selected for the Yudh Seva Medal. This honor recognizes his indomitable courage, exceptional combat skills, extraordinary valour, and exemplary leadership during Operation Sindoor on June 7 and 8, 2025. During this critical operation, when large-scale drone attacks were launched from Pakistan's side of the border, his swift operational decisions were instrumental in:
- Foiling hundreds of drone attacks
- Securing the Jaisalmer Air Force Station
- Protecting adjoining border areas
Under his command, personnel at the station successfully defended critical infrastructure against persistent threats.
Army Division Commander Recognized for Strategic Excellence
Major General Ashish Khurana, General Officer Commanding of the Army's Battle X Division in Jaisalmer, has been announced for the Vishisht Seva Medal. The award acknowledges his crucial role in multiple areas:
- Leadership during Operation Sindoor
- Efforts to strengthen military preparedness throughout the operation
- Successful organization of the Army Commanders' Conference attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Border Security and Industrial Security Officers Honored
DIG Mahesh Kumar Negi, Sector South, BSF, Jaisalmer, has been selected for the President Medal for Meritorious Service. This award celebrates his long-term, dedicated, and excellent service in securing the international border, demonstrating unwavering commitment to border protection.
Additionally, Navjyoti Gogoi, an IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre currently on deputation as Inspector General in CISF, has been announced for the President's Commendation Service Medal. This recognition honors his long-term, dedicated, and excellent service in industrial security, reflecting the high standards maintained by security forces.
