Officials have confirmed that security has been substantially strengthened, with intensified joint patrolling by Indian and Nepalese forces. District Magistrate Richie Pandey and Superintendent of Police Amit Ranjan recently conducted inspections at multiple border points, issuing necessary instructions to ensure robust security arrangements.
Emergency services have been exempted from these restrictions, allowing critical movement to continue uninterrupted. However, all other cross-border movement has been temporarily suspended, significantly impacting residents who typically travel during Holi to visit relatives across the border.

District Magistrate Richie Pandey has maintained constant communication with district administrations in Nepal's Rautahat, Sarlahi (Malangwa), and Mohattari regions to address security challenges and coordinate efforts. SSB officials have held crucial meetings with Nepal Police at strategic locations including Bherahia, Lalbandi, and near pillar numbers 316/20 and 316/21. SSB Lalbandi East post inspector JDS Thenelesh emphasized that personnel are maintaining strict vigilance on multiple security issues. These include monitoring alleged cases of double citizenship and investigating claims of some locals being registered as voters in both India and Nepal. Inspector Thenelesh confirmed that additional security deployment would be implemented if necessary to maintain order.
