Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Two Indian Army Soldiers Near Sensitive Border Region
In a deeply unfortunate incident, two valiant soldiers of the Indian Army, including a Naib Subedar, lost their lives when their military vehicle met with a catastrophic accident in the remote and rugged terrain of Arunachal Pradesh. The accident occurred on March 7 near the isolated Reddi village, while the vehicle was en route from Gelemo to Taksing. The soldiers were engaged in critical operational duty under the ambit of Operation Snow Leopard, a mission focused on surveillance and security in the high-altitude, snow-bound regions along the border. According to a delayed Army report, the vehicle plunged into a deep ditch, leading to the immediate fatalities.
The deceased have been identified with profound respect as Naib Subedar Kulwant Singh, who served with the 908 Field Regiment under the 56 Artillery Brigade, and Naik Pradeep Kumar Sharma, a dedicated member of the 18 Sikh Regiment. Their sacrifice underscores the immense risks faced by military personnel in maintaining national security in challenging frontier areas.
Injured Driver Receives Medical Care, Condition Stable
In a silver lining amidst the tragedy, the driver of the vehicle, Amarjeet Gujjar, also of the 908 Field Regiment, sustained only minor injuries in the accident. He is currently undergoing medical treatment at the Field Hospital Borarupak, where his condition is reported to be stable and out of danger. The Army has assured that he is receiving the best possible care to facilitate a swift recovery.
