Mohali's Deaf-Mute Couple's Tiffin Service 'Quietly Delicious' Inspires Thousands

Some stories don't shout; they arrive quietly and stay with us long after we've scrolled past. The story of Vanshpreet Singh, Anmol Kaur, and their five-year-old son Sukhmehar Singh is one such tale of hope, faith, and self-respect. Mohali's deaf and mute couple's journey reminds us that courage doesn't always speak aloud, and hope often finds its voice in the most unexpected ways.

The Viral Video That Touched Hearts

While scrolling on Instagram, many came across a video that captured thousands of hearts. The video featured a cute little boy, camera-friendly for sure, telling the world about his parents' daily tiffin menu in his heart-melting voice. In the video, he stands between his parents, introducing his mother first, then his father. The camera slowly pans towards the food where Anmol tries to explain each dish through hand gestures. As she signs, the boy translates: "Ye to hai aalo, gajar, mattar. Ye kale chane." No drama, no acting, just a little boy becoming the voice of his parents for the world.

He is Sukhmehar, and his parents are Vanshpreet Singh and Anmol Kaur, both deaf and mute by birth. Today, the family runs a small tiffin service called Quietly Delicious from Mohali, Punjab. Their tiffin journey began on December 15, 2026, but reaching this point was not an easy path.

A Journey of Struggle and Resilience

Vanshpreet lived with his parents and younger brother in Sidauli, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He got married about five years ago to Anmol in an arranged marriage setup. However, due to his disability, he faced significant challenges in finding a full-time job. His father ran a transport business in the region, but one day, the business collapsed, and financial stability disappeared. What followed were years of uncertainty and dependence.

Despite the unconditional support of his younger brother Charanmeet Singh and his wife Himanshi Sethi, the couple struggled emotionally and financially as they were already a family of three. Vanshpreet was slipping into depression. "He felt helpless and a burden," Himanshi recalls. "Bhaiya wanted to provide for his wife and kid, but didn't know what to do. His biggest worry was his son's future."

"We would support them, but of course, he wanted to work and do something. We knew Bhabhi was a great cook," says Himanshi. It was during this phase that the couple made a difficult decision to leave their family home and start afresh in Mohali. With financial and emotional support from their extended family, they rented an apartment in a society. This turned out to be the best decision of their life, leading them to cooking and serving with love.

The Birth of 'Quietly Delicious'

The tiffin service began quietly. Initially, they would prepare 10–15 thalis per day and deliver food within and around their society. Himanshi helped manage communication and their social media presence. But one ordinary day changed everything.

"I was recording their cooking video when Sukhmehar suddenly came into the frame and started explaining the dishes," Himanshi recalls with a smile. "I uploaded it without thinking much. I never imagined people would connect with it the way they did as the video went viral in no time."

It was shared across social media platforms, touching people with its simplicity, honesty, and raw reality. Viewers were moved by the silent gestures and beautiful connection between husband and wife, with their five-year-old boy becoming the voice of his parents. Soon, comments started pouring in from all over, filled with blessings, love, and words of encouragement. Many called them an inspiration.

Overwhelming Response and Growth

Soon, Quietly Delicious became a symbol of faith and resilience. "The business is challenging and competitive, but by God's grace, the response has been overwhelming. As orders started pouring in, the tiffin service got registered on Swiggy, and today, demand continues to grow," says Himanshi.

But their achievement is not just about delicious food; it's about their spirit of Sewa. In several videos, the family can be seen feeding the poor and needy on freezing winter nights. They serve meals with folded hands and gentle smiles, their quiet kindness winning hearts once again.

One such clip shows a man eating their food and saying, "Punjab aur Punjabiyon jaisa koi nahi pure Hindustan mein." He further mentions that he has been to 19 states, but nowhere is like Punjab, where people serve from the heart.

A Life Transformed

Today, Vanshpreet is living a life full of love and blessings, no longer consumed by depression. Anmol's kitchen smells of life and giggles, while Sukhmehar is too young to realize how 'Anmol' (priceless) he is. Their story is one of courage, as they did not let their disability define their destiny. Silence became their strength, highlighting the bond of families and the importance of family support in achieving success.

This inspiring tale from Mohali serves as a powerful reminder that with determination, support, and a little help from technology, anyone can overcome adversity and create a meaningful life.
