Rajasthan Foundation Day Celebrated with Cultural Splendor in Lucknow
The vibrant spirit of "Padharo Mhare Des" (Welcome to My Land) was brought to life in Lucknow on Monday as the city enthusiastically celebrated Rajasthan Foundation Day. This grand event, held at Era University, was organized under the directives of Governor Anandiben Patel, showcasing the rich and diverse cultural tapestry of Rajasthan through a series of engaging activities.
A Showcase of Rajasthan's Heritage
The program served as a magnificent tribute to Rajasthan's illustrious heritage, featuring:
- Folk Performances: Medical students, adorned in traditional Rajasthani attire, captivated the audience with energetic folk dances that earned resounding applause.
- Heritage Exhibition: A detailed poster exhibition highlighted the state's architectural marvels, including its historic forts, majestic palaces, and profound cultural legacy.
- Traditional Cuisine: Authentic Rajasthani dishes such as dal-baati-choorma and gatte ki sabzi were presented, offering a taste of the region's culinary traditions.
- Cultural Skit: A skit was performed to depict Rajasthan's unique food culture, adding an entertaining and educational element to the festivities.
Dignitaries and Inauguration
The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Ashok Kumar Vishnoi, Dean of Nursing at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, alongside Vice-Chancellor Abbas Ali Mahdi. In his address, Mahdi emphasized Rajasthan's significance, noting that as the largest state in India by area, it is renowned for its bravery, rich cultural heritage, and tourism appeal, all of which contribute substantially to the nation's economy.
Competition and Recognition
A highlight of the celebration was a skit competition, where the first prize was awarded to a talented team comprising Farha Ahmad, Kashish Ansari, Asra Iqbal, Kulsum Rizvi, Falak, Adarsh Chaurasia, Arya Gupta, Pratiksha Kaushal, Rahila, and Tahseen Zehra. Their performance was praised for its creativity and cultural authenticity.
