Carrying mobile phones inside the temple complex, capturing photos or videos, and creating social media reels are now strictly forbidden. Posti clarified that any devotee found violating these regulations will face legal consequences. Simultaneously, authorities in Rudraprayag district have launched a comprehensive traffic management plan to facilitate smooth movement during the upcoming Kedarnath Yatra pilgrimage season. Officials are strengthening traffic arrangements from national highways to connecting link roads to handle the anticipated surge of pilgrims.
Enhanced Security and Infrastructure Measures
Adequate police personnel will be deployed at critical points to regulate vehicle flow, manage congestion, and ensure disciplined traffic along the route. The administration has established both permanent and temporary parking facilities to alleviate vehicular pressure and prevent bottlenecks, prioritizing convenience and safety for pilgrims.
Detailed Organizational Framework
Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar disclosed that a meticulous plan has been prepared in coordination with neighboring districts to manage peak rush periods. "A detailed traffic plan has been formulated for the yatra in the district. Coordination has been established with nearby districts," Tomar stated.
The traffic system has been strategically divided into two super zones and eleven sectors to enhance monitoring and expedite responses to traffic challenges. Additionally, thirteen mobile force teams have been constituted for real-time management, enabling swift intervention during peak hours. A diversion plan will also be activated if traffic pressure escalates.
These initiatives represent broader efforts by the district administration to ensure a safe, smooth, and well-organized Kedarnath Yatra, reflecting a commitment to both spiritual preservation and logistical efficiency.
