Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 Begins: PM Modi's Cultural Push

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended a warm invitation to all citizens to participate in the fourth edition of Kashi Tamil Sangamam, set to begin on Tuesday, emphasizing the cultural bridge it creates between Tamil Nadu and Kashi.

Prime Minister's Enthusiastic Endorsement

During his monthly 'Mann ki Baat' address on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi revealed that the people of Kashi are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their Tamil brothers and sisters. "Whenever one speaks to the people of Kashi… they always say that they enjoy being a part of the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam," the Prime Minister shared, highlighting the event's growing popularity.

Modi described the initiative as "the confluence of the world's oldest language and one of the world's oldest cities," noting that the platform has become crucial for Tamil language enthusiasts. This year's edition carries the compelling theme "Learn Tamil-Tamil Karkalam," encouraging participants to embrace the Tamil language.

BHU Leads Pre-Event Celebrations

The academic partner for the program, Banaras Hindu University, has already commenced pre-event activities across Varanasi. A recent 'Run for KTS' attracted massive participation from students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff, all showing their support for this cultural initiative.

BHU Vice-Chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, who flagged off the marathon, emphasized the university's role as a "microcosm of the nation itself." He noted that the run serves to spread awareness about Kashi Tamil Sangamam while celebrating India's rich cultural diversity and heritage.

Strengthening National Unity

Prof Chaturvedi elaborated on the Sangamam's significance, describing it as a confluence of multiple domains including spirituality, intellect, philosophy, and religion. The event represents a meaningful step toward strengthening the 'Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat' spirit that Prime Minister Modi consistently promotes.

In his address, the Prime Minister concluded with powerful Tamil phrases: "Tamil Kalachaaram Uyarvanad (Tamil culture is great), Tamil Moli Uyarvanad (Tamil language is great), and Tamil Indiavin Perumidam (Tamil is the pride of India)." These words underscore the government's commitment to celebrating Tamil heritage while fostering national integration through cultural exchange.

The event is organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, with BHU serving as the academic partner. Prof Anchal Srivastava serves as the nodal officer for KTS 4.0, while Prof Bhuwan Chandra Kapri and Dr Rajeev Kumar Singh coordinated the recent marathon event.
