A commemorative event held in Haveri paid rich tributes to the legendary sculptor Amarashilpi Jakanachari and saw a strong emphasis on the crucial role of mothers in imparting religious education to children. The gathering, which also marked the release of a new calendar, became a platform for discussing the blend of social, traditional, and spiritual learning for the younger generation.

The function was organized by the Haveri District Vishwakarma Employees Welfare Association on Sunday. Speaking as a key voice, vastu expert Rudrappa Kammar articulated that a mother's duty extends beyond conventional education. He stressed that instilling awareness of religious values in children is fundamental for the progress of the nation itself.
"The education we receive in schools and colleges teaches us how to live, but religious values form the foundation of life and impart its greatest lessons," Kammar stated. His address positioned spiritual grounding as an essential complement to modern academic learning.
Celebrating the Immortal Legacy of Amarashilpi Jakanachari

He provided historical context, noting that temple sculpture reached its peak during the Hoysala period, particularly under the reign of King Vishnuvardhana. "Vishnuvardhana's wife, Shantala, was famed as a dance queen, and during this era, Amarashilpi Jakanachari gained renown for his intricate carvings in the temples of Belur and Halebidu," Chamaraj Kammar remarked, highlighting the vibrant cultural ecosystem of the time.
