The Chief Minister also referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent appeal. Modi has encouraged citizens to gift books instead of bouquets at official functions. Sharma echoed this sentiment, underscoring the profound value of books.

Jaipur Literature Festival's Global Expansion
The festival, now in its 19th year, commenced with reflections on its growth. William Dalrymple recalled the event's modest beginnings in 2006. It has since evolved into a global phenomenon with a presence in nine cities worldwide.
Focus on Vernacular Languages and International Tours
JLF co-director Namita Gokhle outlined the festival's commitment to Indian languages. She confirmed the inclusion of 22 vernacular languages spoken across India. This move aims to celebrate linguistic diversity.
Additionally, Sanjoy Roy of Teamwork Arts announced exciting plans. The Jaipur Literature Festival will travel to four cities in Ireland next year. This expansion continues its mission to spread literary culture internationally.
